Trippiest. Place. EVER.
About the Project
We're a group of high school girls with a lot of wanderlust between us. We know we're going to travel the world! We just need to figure out the specifics... like how. And when. And exactly where which of us are going.
This is a place for us to get down our thoughts- where we want to go, what we want to do there, how we plan to get there, where we plan to stay.
If you know anything about any of our places of interest, please feel free to share your insights in the comments!
You can also find us on Tumblr.

The Red Rocks Ampitheater in Colorado
I'm still catching up on all the blogs I've neglected to read and stumbled upon Wild Mink's entry Colorado Vacay-Pt. 2: Moutain wo(MAN). You can read her entry here.
But WOW! Her pictures and recounting is amazing! I wonder what they show at the ampitheater? Will definitely look into this one. :)

The Loop of St. Louis Missouri
I was reading Selective Potential's Featured Blogger: Second Edition on the chic Chandra from Modern Day Charm when I found this little interesting tidbit:
I just loved the description, so I went to the site. I have to check it out some more, but it sounds like a cool place to go to! They even have a walk of fame just like Hollywood with the likes of Chuck Berry and Tennessee Williams!
"My favorite thing about Saint Louis would have to be the area I live in. I live in a part of town called The Loop (check out the website http://visithteloop.com). It's only 6 blocks big but is full of boutiques, bars, music venues, restaurants from all over the world, music venues, art galleries, vintage shops, and more. Everything is in walking distance...and I love it. Just today I sat outside on our balcony for a while watching the rain come down and heard saxophones in the air. There's always something going on and tons of musicians playing on the streets. I love being in such a diverse area. It's truly a melting pot. In the summer it's always ablast to just people watch. On the weekends when the weather is nice there are drum circles right across the street from my apartment. Anyone can come and play and usually a ton of people do. I've seen fire throwers, belly dancers, street-side robotic dancers, and a rollerblading dance show. Pretty awesome and you never know what to expect!" -Chandra

The Grand Haven Musical Fountain & The Blarney Stone
Hey! It's Renee again, and I've found some really cool places to visit! Czech it out!
First of, I recently found out about The Grand Haven Musical Fountain from newly-discovered blogger Tick Tock Vintage. You should check out her blog if you love everything vintage and enjoy following people's life stories. Her style is definitely cute, but back to the fountain!

The Grand Haven Musical Fountain is a fountain in Grand Haven, Michigan that coordinates its sprays of water and lights to music. The fountains shoots up as much as 4,000 gallons a minute during shows from a water basin that holds up to 40,000 gallons! Not only that, but the sprays reach 125 feet, and 200 lights are used, shining in colors like red, blue, amber, and white. Don't care about all that? Then try this excerpt from Wikipedia on for size.
"Each minute of show performance requires approximately two hours of computer programming. New shows can feature over 5000 lighting and or water commands in a 20 min. performance."
Holy. Cow.
In reality, I've seen Disney Sea do something like this, and it was extremely impressive, but it seems like fun anyway! And maybe just a tad bit romantic. ;)
OH. AND IT TALKS TO YOU TOO. Totally not creepy.
The second place on the list I knew a long time ago but never really cared about until recently. The Blarney Stone is a large rock fixture in the Blarney Castle in--can you guess?--BLARNEY, IRELAND! What creative naming! Applause! Applause! But wait! Blarney apparently means "flattering or coaxing talk." Which gives us a great segway into it's history! Applause! Applause!
The Blarney Stone is, yes, a huge tourist attraction in Ireland. Kissing the stone upside is suppose to endow the kisser with "the gift of gab." In other words, kissing a great, big Irish rock is gonna make you eloquent and a great conversationalist.
How does kissing the Blarney Stone give you the gift of gab? Well, long ago in 1446, a dude named Cormac Laidir McCarthy had to go to court (Ooooh!) and plead his case. He asked the goddess Cliodhna for help. Her advice? Kiss the first rock you see. Infallible logic milady.
Anyway, McCarthy goes out for a stroll and does so. Then when he finally goes to court, he's able to plead himself OUT of the case! Astounded by this, he took the heaving rock and made it a permanent fixture of the castle. And they lived happily ever after. The end!
Now why do I want to go visit Ireland just to pash--upside down mind you--a big rock in a castle that's probably germy from all the other people smooching it? Simple.
I'm an awkward child.
I think people who meet me in person don't think I notice it, or assume I'm disinterested. But I know when I'm awkward. I wasn't graced with great social skills or patience. Many a conversation went like so...
This happens all. The. Time. Though to be fair, I talk too much around the people I'm comfortable with, but that's few and far between. Otherwise, I'm taciturn as a rock, so maybe kissing one would help me out.
Long post is long, but hopefully enjoyable. :) ~Renee, over and OUT.

"Hey Renee! How are you!"
"Good."
"Cool, cool. Did you hear?! There was a knife fight outside G building!"
"Oh."
"Yeah! It was pretty wild!"
"I think fighting is stupid."
"...Oh."
"Yeah."
*Awkward silence*
"...WELL! Imma gonna get some lunch! Bye Allegra!"
"Bye."
"Good."

Introductions: "Renee Lal Hadar Gowri"
...I'm suppose to write some really cool stuff here, huh? Well. I'll give it a shot. *Cracks knuckles*
Hey internet. Back in the spring of ol' 1993, my momma shat me out on the side of a dirt road in a little tin bucket. I grew up to be a General Pwnr as well as the Leading Commander of Santa's E.L.V.E.S. Unfortunately, I was shortly kicked out when the find out that instead of being a serious toymaker, I wanted to be a creative writer and novelist hoboing it around the world and scaring locals. I had to leave with nothing but the clothes on my back, fending off the sharks and whales with nothing but my bare fists and nail clippers. I still have the scar where a gnarwhale punctured me in the stomach after I insulted its mother. People often mistake it for my belly button.
It took me awhile to get there with all that swimming, but I finally reached the island of Oahu in Hawaii. It struck me odd that none of the people actually speak in rhymes or spontaneously tap dance. I'm still assimiliting and getting use to the culture shock, but it's been a good seven or so months since I came here, and life's going pretty good.
But I'm getting tired of this island. I need to do stuff. So me and these other Pwners are going to off into the ocean and sucker punch a few sharks to have some grand old adventures. Unfortunately, I'm the oldest one of the group and have to wait two more years for them. But it's all G.
Hobbies: Badassery/Pwnage, reading, creative writing, fashion, listening to music, art, dreaming
Likes: Orange juice, being warm on a cold night, nature, fighting the mold
Bit o' Philosophy: "I don't think people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive."-Joseph Campbell
I have been to:
Austrailia
I would be interested in going to:

Introductions: Luci
My name is Luci, and I am an Aquarius born in the Year of the Dog. I'm sixteen years old, and I was born and raised here on 'Oahu. I love Hawaii! I love living in such a beautiful place. But I have places to see, know what I mean?
I'm a reader and a writer and a dreamer. I knit. I love tv shows like Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Merlin, and Bones. Music is magic to me. My favorite color is blue. I find history fascinating, and I can spend days in a museum. I want to see as much as I can of this beautiful world, and my primary goal is always happiness.
I have a habit of wishing myself elsewhere. The point of this is that I get to stop wishing and just go!
Welcome to the beginning of the journey.
I have been to:

An Asian language (Japanese? Korean? Mandarin? Hindi? I don't know yet.)
Sign Language. (At this point, any dialect is fine by me. But it would mean a lot to me to be proficient in sign language. Really. I'd rather learn too sign than to speak French. If you've known me very well at all in the past three years, you'd know that's saying a lot.)
